Over the next ten days I am going to be buried in house cleaning and entertaining chores. I have two big events in that time, one each weekend, and one of the events entails 13 women coming to stay at my house for 3 days. Needless to say, I will probably be missing from my blog over this time. The good news is that once these events are over I hope to have much more time for my art. (Please don't anyone ruin that fantasy for me! It's the only thing keeping me going!)
I also wanted to announce that if anyone is in the Bethlehem, PA area tomorrow, my gladiolus print
copyright 2004 Stacy L. Rowan
will be available at the Miller Heights Tricky Tray fundraiser. (Click here for a description of Tricky Tray.) The school is located at 3605 Allen Street in Bethlehem, PA and the event runs from 10am til 4pm. You do not need to be present at 4pm to win a prize. All winners are notified by phone.

13 women for three days! How is your husband going to cope!! Sadly, I'm not going to be able to get to Bethlehem, PA tomorrow, though I will be visiting Philadelphia, PA in August.
I meant to say that I really like the print. Lovely colours and modelling on the flowers.
I just found your blog and really appreciate the sharing of information and (sigh of relief) tales of starting out with questionable results in drawing! I worked through three quarters of "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" a few years ago, and my dear husband bought be a new copy for Christmas last year. Motherhood invites quiet passtimes which bring pretty quick satisfaction in those half-hour evenings! Anyhow, someday I will post my art on my blog - for now it's only for ideas and poetry since my ancient computer won't upload art files. Thanks again for the inspiration! Good luck with the girly gathering! I still congratulate myself on cleaning the carpets this year. . .
That is a gorgeous print. :)
You have a really interesting blog, makes a great read.
Dave, I know you guys with the same name have to stick together, but no worries about my husband Dave. He gets to leave with the kids and stay at his parents house. He will not be subjected to a weekend with 14 women! In fact, the Girls Weekend rules clearly state "No boys allowed". :D
Amuse, I am glad you enjoyed my blog. Every artists has questionable results at some point - no matter what they say! I always think any struggle shows in my work, but that the work of other artists look like it was achieved effortlessly. I have finally realized that is a result of viewing my work through the lens of my experience with it. I also believe it is important to continue to learn and push myself. So I expect to have questionable results for years to come.
Jennifer, thank you for your kind comments! I often struggle more with what I am going to write than with the artwork I am posting. LOL
That'll be a crazy all girls weekend for sure - enjoy!
I just wanted to say WOW! Your gladiolus is absolutely gorgeous - I'm sure you'll do great with the prints.
take care,
Amira
Thanks Amira! I peeked into the ticket can during the Friday night preview night and there seemed to be quite a few tickets already, so that was nice to see. I have to call the organizer and see who won the print. Hmmm...maybe I'll wait until after Girls' Weekend.
